Bishop David Oyedepo, the Apostle of the Liberation Mandate and founder of the Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel International has donated a well-furnished Library to the Dumagi community in Kwara State where he planted the first church while on relief duty as a teacher.
The event which was part of the 70th birthday celebration of Bishop Oyedepo held on Tuesday September 24th, 2024 with the handing over of the fully equipped library to the village head by officials of the church.
It was at the community where he planted the first church for the period he was there on relief assignment and at his departure, the community handed over to him a lantern to symbolise the light of the gospel he brought to their land.
The Library was constructed in honour of his Platinum birthday, at Dumagi, commissioning and dedication was on Tuesday, September 24.
Leading the Team of 24 people from the state Headquarter which is about 3 hours from Dumagi was the State Pastor; Pastor Abiodun Joseph. In the team were all the district pastors in the State, representatives of the LFC New Jerusalem Church Board and other members. The Team traveled in a convoy of 4 Vehicles.
On arrival at Dumagi, the team was received by the community leader Mall Ibrahim Muhammed and his council. It was indeed a refreshing time as almost the whole community gathered to witness the event.
Using the legacy dedication program schedule, the commissioning began at about 11.30 am with an opening prayer, praise and worship and charge. Alter call was made and prayers raised for the community.
The Library was officially commissioned with a special prayer. It was anointed and dedicated to the glory of God. The door was opened and the community leaders and pastors matched in to take pictures and walk through.
The Library is equipped with over 100 books from the Dominion Bookshop (including legacy Books), and about 200 relevant educational books (text books, dictionaries, literature books etc). Reading tables and chairs. It also has an adjoining Admin Office with a modern convenience.
The key was handed to the Community leader who also gave it to the Community Education Officer. They were admonished to ensure the judicious use of the Library. Branded exercise books were shared to pupils and students present.
In his response and vote of thanks, the community leader, Mall Ibrahim Muhammed expressed profound appreciation for the kind gesture. He explained that our Father in the Lord was his senior in Government Secondary School Omuaran.
He retold the narratives of the lantern as he was present in the community at the time. He reiterated the commitment of God’s servant to see pupils go to school and his passion for humanity even way back then. He assured that the Library will be properly taken care of.
A closing Prayer was said at about 12.35 after which the team returned to Ilorin.
To God alone be the glory. Amen
