NUP honours GM LSPC for well-being of retired staff

The Nigeria Union of Pensioners (NUP), Lagos State Council, has honoured the General Manager of Lagos State Printing Corporation (LSPC), Hon. Kolawole Peregrino with the prestigious Award of Excellence as the Best Pensioner-Friendly General Manager in Lagos State.

The award ceremony, held at the Conference Room of the Corporation recently, was attended by LSPC Management staff, representatives of pensioners of the Corporation, and State representatives of the Nigeria Union of Pensioners.

The recognition is a testament to the General Manager’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and well-being of retired staff, fostering a culture of inclusivity, support, and excellence within the Corporation.

The NUP leadership commended the General Manager for instituting several initiatives that have significantly improved the lives of pensioners which included timely payment of pensions, fostering open communication channels with retired staff, and implementing programmes aimed at improving their quality of life.

Speaking at the event, the Chairman of NUP Lagos State Council, Rev. Oluremi Johnson, praised the General Manager’s dedication, describing it as a model for others in public service.

The Chairman, Nigeria Union of Pensioners, LSPC Branch, Pastor Chris Olaoye Oyewo, emphasised the excellent performance of the General Manager since his resumption five years ago, saying “God has been using him for a dramatic turnaround in the lives of Pensioners”.

He added that some of the General Manager’s achievement towards the plights of pensioners was the constant payment of monthly pension, instant implementation of constitutional pension increases whenever it arises, payment of N25,000 palliative for three months and payment of backlog arrears of gratuities to the contributory pension scheme for retirees.

In his remarks, the General Manager of LSPC, Hon. Kolawole Peregrino expressed profound gratitude to the Nigeria Union of Pensioners for the recognition, he emphasized his unwavering commitment to maintaining a pensioner-friendly environment in Lagos State Printing Corporation, stating that “It is both an honour and a responsibility to receive this award, I assure you that we will continue to work towards improving the welfare of our retired personnel, ensuring they feel valued for their years of service.”
