The Chairman, National Population Commission (NPC), Alhaji Nasir Isa-Kwara has expressed readiness of the Commission to conduct accurate, reliable and acceptable census exercise across the country.
The Chairman gave the promise on Thursday when he led the National Executive member of the commission on a courtesy visit to Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi in his office in Ilorin.
According to him the aim of the visit was in continuation of the ongoing engagement and enlightenment on national census exercise.
Isa-Kwara explained that all local governments in the country have been fully demarcated, adding that the postponement of the census exercise was to ensure quality results.
He urged Nigerians to give their support to the Commission to enable it succeed.
In his address the Deputy governor, Kayode Alabi said the population and housing census exercise would assist the country to know the total number of its household.
He said the exercise would be of advantage to all citizenry in the country.
Alabi assured the commission of the support of the state government to ensure success of the exercise.
Earlier in his address of welcome, NPC Federal Commissioner in Kwara state, Alhaji Abdulrasak Gidado expressed the determination of the commission to conduct a reliable census exercise in the state and the country in general.
In his comment, the Director-General, Michael Imoudu National Institute For Labour Studies,(MINILS), Comrade Issa Aremu said an accurate population and housing census exercise would enable the policy makers plan for the future of the citizens.
