Nasarawa Gov lauds Ogun counterpart on infrastructure drive

Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has commended Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun for his strides in road construction and infrastructure development in the last four and a half years.

Sule gave the commendation on Monday while speaking with newsmen after a courtesy call on Abiodun in Abeokuta.

The Nasarawa state governor, who described infrastructure as a catalyst for investment, expressed delight with the good road network across the state.

“So many projects like the Agro-Cargo Airport are going on in the state. I know about the various projects that former President Muhammadu Buhari came to commission.

“The last time I came here was when Nestle was beginning to build their factory and also the Brewery was also building their site.

“Today, I have not only seen those industries, I have seen the dualisation of the Sagamu-Abeokuta road. We were here in 20 minutes.

“That is what a private-thinking person will do in order to attract investment, as investment will not come without somebody doing something,” he said.

Sule applauded Abiodun for siting most of the projects at the grassroots, noting that it would help in socio-economic endeavours in the state.

In the area of Internally-Generated Revenue (IGR), Sule said his state had a lot to learn from Ogun.

He said this was important as there were several states in the country that were not generating enough revenue to run their affairs
