Mustapha, Aluko, Shagaya win Kwara central NASS seats

Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the National Assembly in Kwara Central have won their various seats in Saturday’s election.

The Turaki of Ilorin, Mallam Saliu Mustapha won the Kwara Central Senatorial seat while Hon. Yinka Aluko and Mukhtar Shagaya won the Ilorin East/South as well as Ilorin West/Asa Constituencies respectively in the Federal House Representatives.

Also, Hon Rep. Tunji Olawuyi, (APC-Kwara), representing Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency was re-elected.

Dr Nurudeen Bello, INEC Returning Officer, declared Olawuyi as winner at the collation centre in Omu Aran on Sunday.

Announcing the official result, Bello said that 59,075 voters were accredited with the APC polling 22,140, PDP, 19,092, while the Social Democratic Party (SDP) polled 933.

He said: ”In view of that, the candidate of the APC is declared winner as the party had polled the highest number of votes.”
