Kwara’s First Lady donates cash to 250 vulnerable

The Wife of Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Mrs Olufolake AbdulRazaq, has donated N100,000 cash each to 250 vulnerable in the state.

The cash donation was given to elderly people from 65 years old and above.

The first lady, who is also the Founder of Ajike People Support Centre, explained that the gesture of the ‘Renewed Hope Initiative’ (RHI) of Sen. Oluremi Tinubu was to prioritise the welfare of the elderly citizens.

She thanked the beneficiaries for their contributions and acknowledged their roles in the society as well as the unique encounters they face.

Mrs AbdulRazaq, also the North-Central Coordinator of the RIH, said that the commitment was to ensure that Kwara indigenes and residents feel genuine impact of good governance and ultimately benefit from the dividends of ddemocracy.

She commended the governor for evolving strategies to surmount the challenges faced by women, youths and the aged through well thought out social investment schemes.

Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Prof. Saba Jibril, described the elderly as the bedrock of nation building.

Jibril urged the elderly to continue to support the nation and pray for the success of the present administration.

Earlier, Mrs Olaitan Buraimoh, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, commended AbdulRazaq on the giant stride initiative which covered all sectors and appreciated the first lady for alleviating the suffering of the downtrodden in the society.

In her remarks, the Commissioner for Social Development, Mrs Afolashade Opeyemi Kemi, lauded the commendable initiative of the first lady, for bringing succour to the lives of vulnerable in the society and acknowledged the elderly for their encouragement in building the nation.

Two representatives among the beneficiaries, Pa Fashikun Gabriel and Mrs Iyabo Jimoh, appreciated the kind gesture of the first lady and promised unalloyed support to the present administration. NAN
