Kwara State said it has received 12, 058 bags of grains of maize, millet, and sorghum from the Federal Government.
A statement signed by the Commissioner for Communications, Mrs Bola Olukoju on Thursday in Ilorin gave the breakdowns of the 12,058 to include 7,042 of 50kg bags of maize; 2,916 of 50kg bags of millet; and 2,100 of 50kg bags of sorghum which are still being received as of Friday.
The commissioner also said that the state government also announced the receipt of 8,700 25kg bags of rice from the Federal Government.
The statement said the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Senator Abubakar Kyari will flag off the distribution of the grains in the state very soon; in a manner that would follow the distribution template sent by the Federal Government.
The state government has constantly supported the public to cope with the inconveniences that trailed the removal of fuel subsidies, the statement said.
