Kaduna State Governor Senator Uba Sani, for three days showcased the opportunities for investors in his state with high power delegation of his officials to demonstrate the seriousness of his administration.
Governor UBA Sani in his own account of the Kaduna Investment Summit in China in a statement on his X (Twitter handle) while explaining the engagements of his team in China and the expectations said: “I led a high-powered Kaduna State Government delegation to Hebei Province of China to finalize plans for the effective implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two states and CCECC, explore new areas of cooperation, and meet with investors for partnerships in diverse areas.
“The three-day programne began with a return visit by the Kaduna State Government Team to Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province on June 20th, 2024 in response to the initial visit by the province’s Vice Governor to Kaduna State.
“We met with the Governor of Hebei Province, His Excellency Wang Zhengpu and shared thoughts on forging a strong and sustainable partnership between our two states.
“The tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Kaduna State, Hebei Province and CCECC is for exchanges and cooperation in various forms in the fields of economy, trade, science and technology, energy, agriculture and infrastructure to promote common prosperity and development.
“A key aspect of the tripartite agreement is the development of Hebei Industrial Park in Kaduna.
“A major highlight of our visit was the hosting of the first Kaduna Investment Summit in China which brought together over 70 industrialists and investors.
“We showcased the huge investment opportunities in Kaduna State and made a persuasive case for Hebei Priovince based investors and industrialists to prioritize Kaduna State and make it an investment destination of choice.
“Many of them expressed interest in investing in our state and sought clarifications in a number of areas.
“We responded to their questions and gave them our assurances.
“The summit ended positively with over a dozen interests in agriculture, energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure development.
“Follow – up meetings have been scheduled with the prospective investors.
“Our team also visited and engaged the President of CCECC, Mr. Chen Sichang alongside top management of the company at their Headquarters in Beijing on June 22nd, 2024.
“We discussed issues around urban renewal projects and rural infrastructure.
“We also used the opportunity of the visit to discuss with CCECC on the progress of the projects they are executing in Kaduna State.
We thrashed out issues around major road projects and agreed that they will be completed within the shortest possible time.
“I was accompanied on the Hebei Province visit by the Kaduna State Commissioners of Agriculture, Business Innovation and Technology, and Special Adviser, Investments and Promotion.
