FRSC orders tougher traffic law enforcement

…….in Zamfara State

Zamfara State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Aliyu Ma’aji, has tasked personnel with full enforcement of traffic laws across the state’s routes.

Ma’aji gave the directive during a one-day sensitisation programme organised for Unit Heads of Operations, held in Gusau on Wednesday.

The various unit commands were urged to enforce traffic guidelines, particularly against critical offences such as overloading, route violations, reckless driving, and over-speeding.

The workshop, with the theme, ‘Improving the Operational Efficiency of Patrolmen’, focused on strategies to strengthen enforcement and ensure compliance.

Ma’aji reminded Unit Heads of the increasing cases of overloading, route violations, reckless driving, and speeding in Zamfara.

He further urged intensified public enlightenment alongside strict enforcement, stressing the need to engage all stakeholders to meet the corps’ mandate of reducing road crashes statewide.

The commander advised the public to drive cautiously, observe road discipline, and avoid all traffic offences.

The prevalent traffic offences in Zamfara State include route violations, overloading, speeding and dangerous driving.

Others are underage driving, phone use while driving, and use of fake or unregistered number plates. (NAN)
