Ex-Taraba Gov Ishaku mourns death of former health commissioner Vakkai

Former Governor of Taraba State, Arc Darius Dickson Ishaku, has received with sadness and a deep feeling of loss news of the death of Dr. Innocent Vakkai, who served in his administration as Honourable Commissioner for Health.

In a statement issued by the media adviser to the former Governor, Bala Dan Abu, Architect Ishaku said he is greatly pained by the untimely death of Dr Vakkai, one of the brightest and most hard working members of the Taraba State Executive Council between 2015 and 2023.
The former Governor recalled the contributions of Dr Vakkai to the huge achievements of his administration in the area of primary health care, the reconstruction of three general hospitals in Gembu, Bambur and Wukari, each of them with MRI machines and in the reduction of infant mortality and frequent death of women during child birth.
He expressed sympathy with members of the family of the late former Commissioner and prayed God to console them and to also grant the soul of the departed former Commissioner eternal rest.
