Commissioner lauds Kwara Poly’s management for innovation, standards

The Government has commended the management of Kwara State Polytechnic for innovations and  enhancing educational standards in the institution.

The Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Hajia Saa’datu Modibbo-Kawu gave the commendation during her first official visit to the institution, since redeployment to the ministry.

Modibbo-Kawu pledged the ministry’s continuous support to the premier tertiary institution in the state.

The commissioner expressed admiration for the management’s running  of the polytechnic’s commercial farm and smart agriculture initiative.

She pledged the government’s unwavering support for the polytechnic in its pursuit of academic excellence, assuring that the institution would receive its support whenever needed.

Modibo-Kawu assured the polytechnic of government’s commitment to addressing encroachment on its land, which she said threatens future development in the institution.

She also assured of government support to the institution in securing accreditation for its courses in order to provide quality education to its students.

Rector of the Polytechnic, Mr Abdul Jimoh Muhammed, highlighted two significant challenges facing the institution, primarily land encroachment and funding constraints.

Muhammed who appreciated the Commissioner’s visit, emphasized the pressing need for financial assistance, particularly during accreditation exercises.

The visit was concluded with a tour of the Polytechnic’s commercial farm, poultry farm, and Entrepreneurship Development Centre.

During the tour, the commissioner interacted with members of  staff, further reinforcing the state government’s commitment to investing in its tertiary institutions and supporting their vital role in the state’s progress. (NAN)
