Buhari, Govs commiserate with Akeredolu over mother’s death

President Muhammadu Buhari has  condoled with Gov. Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo and his family on the passing of their beloved mother, Mrs Grace Akeredolu.

The president made his feelings known in a condolence message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina on Friday in Abuja.

He urged members of the Akeredolu family to draw strength from the life lessons taught by mama, the values of care and compassion she inculcated in them and the sacrifices she made for her children to succeed in life.

Buhari prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed, and urged the family to hold fast to their faith and trust in God to guide them through this difficult period. 

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State and Vice-Presidential Candidate of the PDP has condoled with his Ondo State counterpart, Chief Rotimi Akeredolu, on the death of his mother,  Lady Grace Akeredolu.

Okowa’s condolence is contained in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Olisa Ifeajika in Asaba.

According to him, Mrs Akeredolu  reportedly died peacefully in her sleep on Sept. 15, aged 90 years.

He condoled with Akeredolu, the government and people of Ondo state, urging the governor  and members of his family to take solace in the fact that their mother lived a good life during which she made invaluable contributions to the course of humanity.

He paid glowing tribute to Lady Akeredolu for being a good mother and joined the family and people of Ondo to mourn the departed matriarch of the Akeredolu family.

According to Okowa, the family should be consoled in the fact that their mother lived to witness the successes of her children, including the emergence of Rotimi as governor.

“We received the news of the demise of your beloved mother with sadness, but we are consoled by the fact that she lived a life of dedicated service to God and humanity.

“Lady Evangelist Akeredolu was a strong pillar in her community, a disciplinarian and a devout Christian and would be missed by all those whose lives she affected in many ways.

“We share in your sorrow and pains at this period and we pray that God will grant you and the family the courage to bear the loss, and we also pray for the repose of the soul of your departed mother.

“On behalf of my family, the government and people of Delta, I mourn with you, my brother Governor, Chief Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, on the demise of your beloved mother.” 

Goovernor. Yahaya Bello of Kogi State has also commiserated with his Ondo State counterpart, Rotimi Akeredolu over the demise of his mother, Lady Evangelist Grace Akerodolu who passed on Thursday at 90 years of age

Bello in his condolence message in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed, on Thursday described a mother’s demise as a pain best understood by those who have felt it.

Bello noted that in spite of being of age, the vacuum such loss creates could not be filled by anyone, urging the governor to take consolation in the truth that Mama lived a fulfilled life in the service of his creator and humanity.

He similarly extended his condolence to the entire family of the deceased over the demise of their matriarch, while urging them to continue in Mama’s footsteps and preserve her good legacies

The governor prayed for God to grant Lady Akeredolu eternal rest  and for consolation to everyone who has been hurt by her demise
