Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Health, Mrs Kachollom Daju, has lauded Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his significant contributions toward the growth and improved performance of the National Orthopaedic Hospital in Jos.
Daju said this on Saturday in Jos, when she visited the hospital to inspect the ongoing work at the hospital.
The permanent secretary noted that the governor’s continuous support had played a vital role in strengthening the hospital’s infrastructure via his construction of some of the structures in the hospital.
According to her, the governor’s commitment has helped create an enabling environment for the hospital to thrive and better serve patients across Plateau State and beyond.
She emphasised that collaborative efforts between the federal and state governments were essential for improving healthcare delivery.
Daju added that specialised institutions such as orthopaedic hospitals that cater for complex medical cases need such collaborations.
She commended Prof. Icha Onche, Medical Director (MD) of the hospital, and his team for their dedication and collective efforts in strengthening the institution.
She said that the leadership and teamwork displayed by the MD and his team had significantly improved service delivery, staff performance, and patient care at the hospital.
The National Orthopaedic Hospital, Jos, which was established in 2023, was created to provide specialised orthopaedic care.
The hospital, based on its mandate, is dedicated to providing high-quality musculoskeletal care. (NAN)
