CP seeks hoteliers’ collaboration in enhancing crimes prevention

The Commissioner of Police in Niger State, CP Adamu Elleman, has called for collaboration with hoteliers to enhance crime prevention efforts.

Elleman while addressing a stakeholders’ meeting with hoteliers in Minna to address the menace of thuggery said: ”You were invited for an interactive session over the menace of thuggery that has been rearing its ugly head in the city.

”If we foster open communication and collaboration, the police and hoteliers can exchange valuable intelligence, helping to better understand and respond to criminal threats.

”Hoteliers can also provide valuable insights into potential criminal activities occurring within their establishments.

”Some of these miscreants committing thuggery in the state are not from Minna. They usually commit these vices with the use of tricycles and motorcycles, robbing unsuspecting members of the public.

“They steal peoples’ valuables and causing injuries or even outright death.

“Mostly, the miscreants use the proceeds of the crimes to lodge in hotels,  thereby getting shelter from the hoteliers knowingly or unknowingly.

”We urge you to assist security agencies in sanitising the city by providing intelligence, observing your customers,” he said.

The commissioner said the police have suceeded in arresting many thugs and miscreants for disturbing the peace in the city, including those who committed culpable homicide.

The hoteliers thanked the commissioner for holding the meeting.

They used the opportunity to table some of their challenges with security agencies to the commissioner.(NAN)
