The Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, has described the appointment of DIG Kayode Egbetokun as the acting Loiñnspector-General of Police (IGP) as a reward for diligence, hardwork, and patriotism.
Alhaji Sulu-Gambari, who is also the Chairman of Kwara State Council
of Chiefs said this on Tuesday in Ilorin in a congratulatory message
issued by his spokesman, Mallam Abdulazeez Arowona.
The Emir noted that DIG Egbetokun is a detrabalised Nigerian whose
commitment to the security architecture and protection of lives and
property of the people is above the bar.
The royal father noted that the tenure of Egbetokun as the
Commissioner of Police in Kwara State (January 2019 -December 2020)
was monumental due to his unwavering efforts toward combating crime
and criminality across the state without bias.
The statement reads: “On behalf of the entire members of the Kwara
State Traditional Rulers Council, His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr)
Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari CFR heartily rejoice with you on your attainment
of the enviable position of acting IGP of our dear country.
“I give glory to Almighty Allah that my prayers for you to become
Nigeria’s IGP in my lifetime have become a reality.
“We identify with you and pray that Almighty Allah grants you the
strength and absolute guidance to justify the confidence reposed in
you by His Excellency, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu GCFR, the President
and Commander-In-Chief of Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
