Williams Ugo, Gombe
A heavy blow has hit the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Gombe State again as it lost four of its stalwarts to the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
The party has in recent times been faced by a gale of exodus out of its fold following internal wrangling since the emergence of Mohammed Jibrin Barde as it Governorship flag bearer early last year.
Just last week, it lost some of it’s prominent members in Funakaye and Gombe Local Government Areas to the NNPP.
The latest aggrieved members of the PDP are four former deputy chairmen from Billiri, Kwami and Nafada Local Government Areas as well as a former Councillor who pitched their tent with the NNPP.
They joined the NNPP after meeting the Gombe NNPP Governorship candidate for the forthcoming 2023 general elections, Ahmed Khamisu Mailantarki.
The name of the defectors are: Hon. Yila Dankuka, a former deputy chairman, Billiri Local Government who served from 2013 to 2015; Hon. Philip Bataliya who also served as deputy Chairman, Billiri local government in 2003.
Others include; Hon. Auwalu Rabiu Daba, a former deputy chairman of Kwami local government, Hon. Aliyu Idris Biri ex deputy chairman of Nafada local government and Hon. Muhammed Balas Tal, a former Councillor Tall Ward in Billiri local government between 2013 and 2015.
End.
