Four men, Favour Samuel, Anibaba Waliu, James Paul and Abdulsalam Haruna, on Monday, were arraigned before an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, charged with stealing 16 iron culvet valued at N1,600,000.
Samuel, 20, Waliu, 23, Paul, 31, and Haruna, 26, whose addresses were not provided, are facing a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy to commit felony and stealing.
However, the men, all pleaded not guilty to the charges preferred against them.
The Prosecutor, ASP Christian Okonofua, informed the court that the defendants committed the offences sometime between Jan.1 and March 6 at 6.00p.m. at Elepe Royal Estate area of Ikorodu.
Okonofua said that the defendants stole the property belonging to one Shina Ashogbon, Samuel Bright and Muhammed Abdulahi, the complainants.
The prosecutor equallyy said that the last defendant, Haruna, at the same time and date at Olomomeji area of Aga in Ikorodu, did receive 16 iron culvert knowing same to be stolen property of the complainants.
According to the prosecutor, the offences contravene Sections 411, 287 and 328 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
The Magistrate, Mrs A.O. Onalaja, granted the defendants bail in the sum of N300, 000 each, with two sureties each in like sum.
Onalaja adjourned the case till March 21 for mention. (NAN)
