Xmas: NASS member from Plateau distributes N100m worth of items to empower constituents

Rep. Yusuf Gagdi (APC-Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam) has distributed assorted items worth over N100 million to his constituents for the Christmas celebrations.

Gagdi, who is the House Committee Chairman on Navy, said that Christmas is a season for love and sharing, particularly with the less privileged.

The former deputy speaker of the Plateau State House of Assembly told the beneficiaries and spectators that he has a covenant with God to dedicate himself to the service of humanity.

He said he would not stop putting smiles on the faces of his constituents, adding that it’s a personal instinct to better the lives of people across ethnic and religious lines.

“Today, we have distributed 3,600 bags of rice, 30 cows, vegetable oil, and fabrics to various groups across the three local governments that make up this constituency.

“We have also given over 2,000 youths, women, and the elderly ₦20,000 each to enable them to celebrate Christmas.

“In the history of my political sojourn, right from the State House of Assembly and even before then, my life has always been impacted by touching the lives of the people, particularly my people.

“From 2011 till date, no festive period passes without me celebrating with my constituents, either Christmas or Sallah,’’ he said.

Apart from the Christmas gifts, Gagdi, through his foundation, empowered youths, women and elders with different materials.

Some of the materials distributed included 200 bundles of zinc to some flood victims in Pankshin/Kanke/Kanam Federal Constituency and 50 sewing and grinding machines to women.

The lawmaker also distributed 20 water pump machines to youths for irrigation farming.

Dr Nentawe Yilwatda, the Plateau State All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in 2023 elections, lauded Gagdi for impacting lives.

Yilwatda, who witnessed the distribution, said he was impressed with Gagdi’s contribution to his constituents and democracy.

According to him, the gesture is to go into developing the people of the state.

Mrs Nengak Gofwen, a beneficiary from Pankshin Local Government, thanked Gagdi for his kindness to the people.

Gofwen prayed to God to protect Gagdi and grant him is heart desires to keep assisting the less fortunate members of society. NAN
