VP Shettima arrives New York for UNGA session

Nigeria’s Vice President Kashim Shettima has arrived in New York ahead of the 79th United Nations General Assembly session.

He was received at the John F Kennedy Airport by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar and other officials of the Nigerian missions in the United States of America.

The Vice President is leading Nigeria’s delegation as directed by President Bola Tinubu and he is expected to deliver Nigeria’s national statement to the General Assembly, attend important sideline events, and also hold bilateral meetings.

The high-level General Debate, with the theme: “Leaving no one behind: Acting together for the advancement of peace, sustainable development and human dignity for present and future generations,” will run from Tuesday, September 24, through Saturday, September 28, 2024.
