Speaker hails Gov Makinde, conduct of Oyo PDP’s South-West congress

The Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Mr Adebo Ogundoyin, has commended the smooth and peaceful conduct of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) South-West Zonal Congress in Ibadan.

Ogundoyin praised the organisational harmony and unity displayed throughout the event, describing it as a reflection of the maturity and progressive spirit within the South-West PDP family.

The congress drew delegates and leaders of the party from across the six South-West states.

The speaker lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for his role in hosting the congress and for continuously serving as a unifying force in the zone.

According to him, Makinde’s leadership style remains exemplary and visionary.

“I must commend Governor Makinde for accepting to host this congress and for his ever-consistent role in unifying the party across the South-West.

“His political sagacity, capacity for leadership, and strategic vision cannot be overstated.

“I believe, with utmost confidence, that he will deliver excellently if entrusted with greater responsibilities in the future,” Ogundoyin said.

The speaker also extended his congratulations to Alhaji Kamorudeen Ajisafe, who was returned unopposed as the South-West Zonal Chairman of the party.

Ogundoyin described his emergence as a testament to the confidence reposed in him by the party’s stakeholders.

“I also congratulate all newly elected zonal executive officers.

“Their emergence signals a new chapter for the PDP in the South-West, one that promises unity, growth, and effective mobilisation ahead of future political engagements,” Ogundoyin added.

The speaker, however, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting PDP’s mission to rebuild and strengthen its structures, especially in the region, as the party prepares for future electoral contests. (NAN)
