Laos is holding an event to provide women with more business knowledge and skills, as well as promote awareness of gender equality and women’s empowerment.
This would be done with a specific focus on the achievements and contributions of Lao businesswomen.
The Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) has organised the third Empowering Women Entrepreneurs event from March 27 to March 28, according to a report issued by the LNNCI on Thursday.
Exchanges and seminars held during the event enable knowledge sharing between the leadership of relevant ministries and related sectors while raising topics such as the importance of women in business organisations.
This would be bring about the integration of women’s and men’s roles and the challenges of women in leadership roles, doing business in the digital age, access to sources of income and related areas.
The inclusion of women in business played a significant role in the socio-economic development of Laos, especially in micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
It helped in their empowerment and skills development a key priority, according to the report.
