Kogi officials visit Ogidi ahead of take over of community’s health facility

The Chief Medical Director, Kogi State Health Management Board, Dr Ayo Olayemi led a team from his agency on a pre-taking over inspection visit to the Ogidi Cottage Hospital.

The visit followed last week’s announcement by the state that it was taking over the facility.

Dr Olayemi, on arrival in Ogidi, stopped at the palace to pay homage to the Ologidi of Ogidi, Oba Rabiu Oladimeji Sule who expressed his appreciation and that of the community to the state government for its thoughtful gesture.

The team had earlier been received on arrival in Ogidi by the Vice Chairman, Ijumu Local Government, Mr. Muyiwa Aiyedogbon, who then led the visitors to Okelakunu where the hospital is sited.

The Secretary and Director of Finance of the Ogidi Health Team, Prince Emma Oladimeji and Pastor Soji Damolekun then conducted the CMD and members of his team round the hospital.

In his remarks, Dr Olayemi promised that the community would, within three weeks, begin to feel the impact of today’s visit.
