…..To Develop, Africa Needs To Put More Effort Into Education
The Consul General to Lagos, Ghana Consulate, Madam Samata Gifty Bukari has said that for African countries to develop there was the need to put more efforts into education.
According to her, educating the youths means a lot to every nation and this must be done with collaborative efforts of all citizens.
“Educating the youth means a lot, even the developed countries, it is education that has made them grow.
We will also put our efforts into education and I believe we will soon get develop because whatever you want to do it is through education.
The right and quality education then you can go into any profession successfully,” she said.
She stated this during a familiarization tour to Ferscoat Schools in Ipaja, Lagos, a Ghanaian-owned institution.
The Consul General urged African countries to make education a priority in order to develop their countries as well as the continent.
“If Nigeria, Ghana, Togo and other countries are developed, then African countries are developed and it won’t be necessary to go on medical tourism to any country.
“It is important we provide good education from basic, good facilities and life will become comfortable for everybody.
Commending the school proprietor, Pastor Felix Opata for his effort in building the school to the level it is now, Madam Bukari said her team was there to give the school the support they need from their domain as a consulate.
“We are happy with what you are doing and we are highly impressed.”
The Consul General who was also a teacher in her remarks while addressing the school urged the students to be of good behaviour and be hard working in other for them to come out best in their academics.
On their choice of profession, Madam Bukari said they need to choose from the areas where their strength lies and they will become successful in life.
She also told them to be Godly, have sympathy for others and make sure they study hard to be able to change the continent as well as the world because they are not only leaders of Africa but of the world.
Responding to her remarks, the proprietor of the school, Pastor Opata thanked the Consul General for the visit and said the result of what is being seen today is that of team work, resilience and hard work.
He said he started the school with two children but today 30 years after, the school has a population of over 1000 students in both primary and secondary.
“We are not just 30 years, we can see our products all over the world doing great things.”
The Proprietor who is also the Director of Studies thanked the Consul General and her team adding that it was a great honour to have her come over to see the school herself after hearing a lot about the school.
“The school will be having its 30 years celebration in December with the expectation of more success in the new year,” he said.
