FRSC explains Thursday’s gridlock on Lagos-Ibadan expressway

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has attributed Thursday’s gridlock on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway to an overturned fuel-laden tanker.

The FRSC Oyo State Sector Commander, Mrs Rosemary Alo, who disclosed this in Ibadan said that a certain quantity of the tanker’s content spilled on the road, causing a gridlock that left several commuters stranded for many hours.

She, however, urged drivers to exercise caution and follow guidelines from road safety officials and other security agents at the scene.

The road safety boss noted that adequate arrangements had been made to ease the gridlock and ensure the safety of lives and property.

She assured the FRSC would stay on standby until the affected tanker is decanted and removed from the expressway. (NAN)
