Edo former Deputy Gov hands over to Dennis Idahosa in formal ceremony

Former Deputy Governor of Edo State Philip Shuaibu unlike Governor Godwin Obaseki officially handed over to the newly sworn in Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa in Benin City.

Shuaibu who had a running battle with Obaseki in a statement posted on his X formerly Twitter handle said: “Yesterday, I formally handed over the reins to my successor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa, at the Government House in Benin City, marking the end of my eight-year tenure as Deputy Governor.

“As I officially presented the handover documents to Hon. Idahosa, I offered words of wisdom and prayers for his success, urging him to surpass my achievements in office.

“Despite the challenges we faced in the last few years, I am grateful to the people of Edo for the opportunity to serve and thrilled to have seamlessly transitioned power to the new deputy governor. “Before departing, I took Hon. Idahosa on a tour of the Deputy Governor’s Office at Osadebe Avenue and the Official Residence and Guest House at Commercial Avenue, GRA, Benin City, ensuring a smooth takeover.

“I wish Hon. Dennis Idahosa, a seasoned politician with a strong track record, all the best as he assumes this new role alongside his principal, Governor Monday Okpebholo.
