Covenant University is celebrating its 22nd anniversary today, marking a significant milestone in its journey to raise a new generation of leaders for the African continent.
Established on October 21, 2002 by Bishop David Oyedepo, the presiding Bishop of the Living Faith Church aka Winners Chapel international, the institution is founded on a Christian mission ethos, and is committed to pioneering excellence at the cutting edge of learning.
In recent years, Covenant University has achieved impressive feats, including producing 339 first-class graduates at its 19th convocation and retaining its title as Nigeria’s best university in the 2025 Times Higher Education Ranking.
The university has also been recognized for its research initiatives, hosting the 2024 Science Olympiad Nigeria National Tournament and partnering with Coursera for full-scale blended learning ².
