Tinubu salutes ex-Kano Gov, Shekarau on his 70th birthday

President Bola Tinubu congratulates former governor of Kano State, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, on his recent 70th birthday.

A statement by Bayo Onanuga Special Adviser to the President, Information and Strategy, says President Tinubu hails Shekarau’s consummate public service career, rising from classroom teacher to the position of permanent secretary in Kano State Civil Service, before venturing into politics in the early 2000s.
It adds, President Tinubu recalls Shekarau’s phenomenal election as Kano State governor in 2003 and his human-centred approach to governance in the two terms he served as the governor.

Shekarau was later to serve as Minister of Education (2014-2015) and as Senator representing the Kano Central constituency (2019-2023).

President Tinubu thanks Senator Shekarau for his years of service to the country, as an educator, administrator, and politician.
President Tinubu prayed Allah to keep the former Kano governor in good health, so that he might continue serving his people and Nigeria.
