Be thirsty for knowledge, DOS Opata tasks Ferscoat school’s record-setting class of 2025

………celebrates their outstanding WASCE, UTME Performance at 24th Graduation Ceremony for 79

Proprietor and Director of Studies, Pastor Felix Opata of Ferscoat International School, Ipaja, Lagos has tasked 2025 set of exceptional students at the 24th Graduation Ceremony and Valedictory Service held on Friday, August 14 at the school’s hall .

The 79 students whose performances erased the record set by their predecessors in 2012 and 2015 with their results in both the 2025 West African Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) and the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in which Adeniyi Damifayo scored 369 in UTME and Asede Prudence recorded eight A1s and one B3 in WASSCE.

Pastor Opata attributed the extra ordinary success of the graduates to God, perseverance and hard work.

“Today, we gather not only to celebrate the achievements of these great minds but also to recognize the dedication, the effort and the love that brought us here.

“In 2024 we had our top ten scoring seven A1s and four A1s but this year, we have 25 of them scoring between eight A1s and four A1s,” he said.

While congratulating the graduates, Pastor Opata urged them to pursue their passions with integrity, resilience and a thirst for knowledge0, adding that no matter their endeavours whether higher education, a new learning opportunity, or exploring their passion, the school and their parents believe in them wholeheartedly.

He added that in the course of their studies, they have faced challenges, adapted to changes, embraced opportunities and as they leave as young adults, they should be ready to take on greater responsibilities and pursue bigger dreams.

‘Graduates as you leave the four walls of this school, I urge you to embrace these key principles which included life long education, dream big, integrity, have respect and compassion for others and stay determined, focused and never give up no matter the challenges,,” he added.

The DOS thanked the parents for entrusting the school with their wards, for supporting them and for being their unwavering pillar of strength.”Your love and encouragement have been vital to their success.

“To the dedicated teaching and non teaching staff, you have not only imparted knowledge but also instilled values that will serve them for a lifetime.

“To the record breaking class of 2025, you are the future of our nation and I believe that each of you has the capacity to become the bright minds, creative thinkers and compassionate leaders that Nigeria needs,” he said.

The Principal, Mr. Fredrick Opata congratulated the graduates urging them to be good ambassadors of the school as they proceed in the new phase of life.

“The Nigeria of today needs young individuals like your visionaries who are not only academically sound but also morally upright. As you step.out into the larger world, let the lessons you have learnt here guide yiu in making a positive impact in your immediate environment, in this nation, and beyond,” he added.

The Zonal Director, Office of Education Quality Assurance, Alimosho, Lagos State and the keynote speaker, Mr Abdulazeez Babalola commended the graduates for their perseverance through challenges which has led to growth and maturity but said it called for continuous striving through extra efforts.

He advised them to beware of friends they keep as they proceed in their education and let the religious belief imparted in them by their parents and school be their guide in all they do.

He commended the management of the school and staff for the standards they have set for the school.

The officiating minister, Pastor Samuel Agbi, of the Living Faith Church urged the graduates to uphold the tenets of God as he is the one that shines his light on them so as to come out in flying colours.

“To the parents, you have invested well and I pray that your investment shall not be in vain,” he said.

The Valedictorian, Oluwadarasimi Idowu in her remarks attributed the success of the 2025 set to the steadfast support of the school’s exceptional teachers.

“You helped shape us morally, spiritually and academically into the young adults we are today and on behalf of the graduating class we say a heartfelt thank you.

‘To our parents and guardians, your love, sacrifices and endless support formed the foundation of our success, and you remain our number one supporters.”
