Jihadist group JNIM claims responsibility for ambush on Burkinabe Army

Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimeen (JNIM), a jihadist group in the Sahel region, has claimed responsibility for a complex ambush on the Burkinabe Army on August 8, near Nassougou in the Eastern region.

In a statement, JNIM announced that its fighters had successfully carried out the ambush, resulting in the seizure of significant war materials from the Burkinabe Army.

Photos and video of the seized materials, including weapons, ammunition, and military equipment, were published by JNIM as evidence of their claim.
