A Security Expert, Mr Seyi Babaeko, has reiterated the need to involve traditional rulers in the various communities in the fight against insecurity.
Babaeko, the MD/CEO of Absolute Security and Advance Protocol Ltd., who disclosed this in Lagos said that traditional rulers are abreast of local criminal activities in their domains, so they must be involved in ensuring that our communities, schools and homes are secure.
Babaeko stressed that collaborative effort among all security agencies was also necessary to effectively tackle insecurity in the country.
“Rising cases of insecurity in the country highlights the vulnerabilities within the security landscape, and underscores the urgent need for proactive measures to safeguard communities and the country as a whole.
“The importance of synergy among all security agencies in the country to address the menace cannot be overemphasised.
“Also, the collective resolve of security agencies in the country, particularly the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Defence Intelligence Agency, and the National Intelligence Agency is crucial in addressing internal and external threats.
“Collaboration between government agencies, private security firms, and international partners is essential to bolster our collective resilience and capacity to respond effectively to security threats.
“Additionally, collaboration between the public and private sectors is paramount in fostering a cohesive and coordinated response to security challenges,” Babaeko said.
The expert lauded the efforts of President Bola Tinubu’s administration in tackling insecurity in the country.
According to him, the reality on ground now, as regards tackling insecurity in the country, is that there is need for collaboration.
He noted that President Bola Tinubu’s administration meant well for the country when it came to tackling the nation’s numerous insecurity issues.
“Considering the robust Renewed Hope Agenda which details the security plans of the administration, the promise to increase the welfare of the security agencies and technology as tools to fight insecurity.
“So at this point in time, we need the collective responsibility of all including all military security agencies and the civilians to tackle insecurity. (NAN)
