Strong indications emerge that the economic sanctions imposed on the military junta in Niger Republic are beginning to take effect on the economy with the scarcity of aviation fuel in Niamey.
As nations begin to evacuate nationals from the Niger, pilots are taking extra caution of going to Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso to fuel to avoid risks.
A special flight left Niamey yesterday around 4pm heading towards China via Ouaga due to fuel shortage in Niamey with dozens of Chinese nationals on board.
China is also evacuating its nationals following the imminence of CEDEAO military intervention to restore constitutional order around President Mohamed Bazoum.
