Rector charges matriculating students on moral uprightness

The Acting Rector, Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, Dr Ibrahim Gashua, has charged matriculating students of the institution for the 2022/2023 academic session on moral uprightness.

About 1,089 students for the session took the oath of allegiance at the ceremony held on Monday.

Gashua, represented by Mr Shettima Ali, Deputy Rector, Academics, Federal Polytechnic Damaturu, also urged the students to be good ambassadors of the institution within and outside the campus.

According to him, the environment is not just an institution for academic learning, but a place for character building.

He also urged them to be focused on their Studies with the view of acquiring a sound education for a successful future.

He disclosed that the matriculating students included those for Higher National Diploma as well as National Diploma across various courses.

The Rector noted that the ongoing construction of the schools of Science and Technology, Environmental studies complexes and landscaping of the school premises were at various stages of completion.

He added that construction of School of Management studies and FM Radio station had commenced and would soon be completed.

Registrar of the school, Mr Muazu Iliyasu, also called on the students to be of good behaviour and obey the rules and regulations of the institution. (NAN)
