Saraki Escapes Police Siege, Presides Over Senate Plenary

Senate President, Bukola Saraki yesterday escaped the police siege on his Abuja residence to preside over Senate Plenary Tuesday morning bringing to an end the rumour of a possible impeachment of the leadership of the red chamber.

The Deputy Senate President Ike Ekweremadu was however absent at the plenary which confirmed the blockade of his residence by the security agencies acting on order from above.

Senator Saraki who confirmed the siege on his residence did not however explain how he escaped to preside over the affairs of the red chambers.

Meanwhile the planned removal of the Senate leadership did not hold on Tuesday even in the absence of the deputy Senate President as at the time of contributions by members on the floor of the chambers.
