Meanwhile, a chieftain of the APC in Kwara, Alhaji Umar Aiyelabegan has declared that the party will sweep the polls in the state in 2019 general elections.

Aiyelabegan, who said this in Ilorin while speaking with journalists, declared that Senate President Bukola Saraki would be humbled even in Ajikobi Ward and Ilorin West Local Government.

“APC is going to win the state in 2019 elections and Buhari is going to be the President.

“Every candidate of the APC will be victorious over their opponents during the elections,” Aiyelabegan added.

It may be recalled that Aiyelabegan was from the same Ajikobi Ward with the Senate President.

“Our main objective in Kwara State is that we are tired of serving a particular family that has held the entire state to ransom for over two decades,” Aiyelabegan.

He maintained his stand of the elders in Ajikobi Ward that they rejected the Senate President as a political leader in the state.

Aiyelabegan had on Thursday, Aug 31 addressed journalists in his Aiyelabegan family compound, Ilorin where he said the entire residents Ajikobi ward were tired of Saraki dynasty.

He accused the Senate President of forcing himself as leader of the people by deliberately using his position as a governor in the first instance and self-made political godfather to impoverish the people.

The APC chief specifically lamented how he said Saraki, who claimed to hail from Agbaji in Ajikobi Ward grossly underdeveloped the area ‎for many years running.

A group ‎ under the aegis of Agbaji Development Association (ADA) addressed journalists to debunk Aiyelabegan’s claim.

The group, led by Alhaji Tayo Moyosore and Yunus Abolakale of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said Aiyelabegan lacked the political strength to speak for the people.

The group mainly of the PDP were made up of the party leaders including Alhaji Oba Ajara who, along with others remained in PDP.

Abolakale told journalists that the Senate President remained their leader, not only in Ajikobi Ward, but the entire Kwara State.

He said Saraki has empowered many youths and women of the Ward and the state in general.

Aiyelabegan said those who came to Agbaji to counter his claims were not from Ajikobi, adding that they were brought from Magaji Ngeri Ward and other places.
