Ondo First Lady,  Akeredolu, Distributes Laptops To Solar, ICT Girls

The Ondo State Governor’s Wife, Mrs. Betty Akeredolu distributed 400

Microsoft Laptop computers to girls on two weeks ICT and Solar

technology training.

Mrs Akeredolu made this known on Sunday at the closing ceremony of the

2018 Summer Boot camp 4girls Naija in Akure.

The Governor’s wife said that she has never been more hopeful of a

better Nigeria,  than this moment, seeing almost 400 girls ready to

change our story and make us more visible on the world map.

She said that two weeks rigorous training in ICT, solar technology and

life enhancing skills have come and gone but many years of impacting

the world and making it a better place is just ahead of the girls.

According to her, “the baton has been placed in your hand, your race begins.

“I must warn you that there will be challenging times, but you should

know that this boot camp has equipped you with all that you need to

overcome them all.

“Girls, to rise up to the task ahead, you must put all you have

learned here to practice, mentor many more girl children and build a

formidable network of change agent,” she said.

The Governor’s wife commended those who contributed in one way or the

other to the success of the 2018 BEMORE SUMMER BOOT CAMP 4 GIRLS

NAIJA.

She described those that contributed as the great giants upon whose

shoulders the girls will be standing on to see further and create

lasting development for Nigeria and world at large.

“You have given a head start to the girl child and indeed the

marginalized of the society and pitched their tents in the court of

great visionaries, thereby positioning them as precursors of change in

national development,” she noted.

Mrs Akeredolu stressed that the sponsors’ effort was well appreciated

and the kindness will not be forgotten quickly as history now put them

in its good book.

She however called on every Nigerians to get things done by helping

the children in our various communities without waiting for government

support.

The Representative of Microsoft Nigeria, Mr Olusola Amosan commended

the First Lady to the initiative, saying it would enable the girls to

prepare themselves for a better tomorrow.

Amosan said the two weeks ICT training has expose them to many

applications in the computer, which they can use to make things done

on it in a legitimate manner.

The training which started August on 13 and ended August 25, 2018 was

the second edition of the program since inception of Mrs. Akeredolu as

the First Lady of Ondo state.
