NYSC Coordinator Makes Case For Corps Members’ Welfare

The Coordinator, National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), in Kwara State   ,

Mrs Ikupolati Easter Tosin has called on Corps employers across the

State to improve on the welfare of the Corps members posted to them.

The State Coordinator made the call on Monday at the NYSC permanent

orientation camp in Yikpata, Edu local government.

According to her, the secretariat will not hesitate to withdraw the

services of its Corps members from any employers that refused to

accord priority to their welfare.

She appealed to the State Governor to pay local allowance to serving

corps members in the state.

Ikupolati was of the view that payment of the allowance would serve as

a palliative to corps members serving in the state.

The state coordinator, in her address said that the Corps members

participated fully, with enthusiasm in all the activities lined up for

the orientation programme.

She commends their comportment, maturity, cooperation and high level

of discipline.

The State Governor, Dr Abdulfatha Ahmed, congratulated the Corps

members for their resilience, which saw them through the orientation

programme.

Ahmed was represented at the ceremony by the Head of Service of the

state, Mrs Susan Oluwole.

She also urged the Corps members to accept their posting to any part

of the state in good faith.

The highlight of the ceremony was the colourful parade presented by

the Corps members.

A total of 1, 999 Corps members participated in the 21-day orientation course.
