Lagos Assembly secretary, Lambo retires, hails Speaker

 Executive Secretary, Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission (LAHASCOM), Ms Abosede Lambo, has commended the Speaker of the House, Mr Mudashiru Obasa for his leadership and human development strides.

Lambo gave the commendation in her farewell speech at a party organised to mark her 60th Birthday and Statutory Retirement from the service of the state on Saturday.

The outgone secretary, who described Obasa as outstanding in human capacity development, said that the speaker would forever be remembered for his magnanimity and efforts to ensure staff welfare.

“It is a double celebration for me. In the course of my duty, I have met a lot of people who have brought about positive changes into my life and helped me become whatever I am today.

“Number one of these people is the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt-Hon. Mudashiru Obasa,  who played a pivotal role in getting me to the peak of my career.

“Of course,  the entire leadership of the Lagos State House of Assembly made my work a success and as such,   I am indebted to them all.

“Obasa’s leadership and magnanimity is outstanding,” Lambo said.

She appreciated the leadership and support of the LAHASCOM Chairman, Chief Wale Mogaji as well as the Clerk of the House, Mr Olalekan Onafeko, the management and members of staff of the House and the commission.

Lambo, who was a former Head of Public Affairs at the House of Assembly, commended friends and family members, saying  that they had been her pillar of support, especially members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Correspondents Association (LAHACA).

Describing her retirement as a new beginning and journey, Lambo said that it would be a difficult transition because she had been passionate about her career for many years.

“This period for me marks the beginning of a new era and the opening of other opportunities.

“It will no doubt herald another vista of activities which have been hitherto latent due to constraints of time,” she said.

Speaking, Onafeko,described Lambo as “a jolly good, wonderful senior colleague and a friend that always stand and defend others.”

Onafeko, described Lambo’s encomiums on the Speaker as a tip of the iceberg, saying Obasa deserved to be commended for his magnanimity and welfarism.

“We all know who Mr speaker is and what he stands for. Ms Lambo and other staff have benefited from the magnanimity and leadership of the speaker,” he said.

Onafeko applauded Obasa for always looking for the best in his human capital development strides in the Lagos Assembly.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the event was attended by Lambo’s friends and family members as well as staff of the House and the commission.
