Kwara Deputy Gov Alabi’s mother dies at 98

Kwara State Deputy Governor, Mr Kayode Alabi has announced the death of his mother Mrs Ena Maud Alabi nee Aljoe.
Mrs Ena Maud Alabi (nee Aljoe), a Jamaica-born mother of the Deputy Governor was aged 98.
A statement by Modupe Joel, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor on Friday in Ilorin, said Mrs Alabi died on Friday, April 5 at the age of 98.
The statement said that the late Mrs Alabi was a retired senior matron, a mentor to nurses, and a woman who gave her all to serving God and humanity.
Joel prayed that Mama should rest in the bosom of the Lord.
In another development, the State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, in his condolence message to his deputy, said the late Mrs Alabi led an impactful life.
A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Rafiu Ajakaye, said the deputy governor’s mother retired as a matron at Maternity (Amilegbe) Ilorin in 1980.
Governor described Mama Ena as a humanist per excellence, who served God and her community with her talents and rich network.
“On behalf of the AbdulRazaqs, the government, and the people of Kwara State, the Governor sends his heartfelt condolences to the Deputy Governor and his siblings on this huge loss of a faithful mother.
“He asks God to repose her soul and help the family to stay strong and united through the mourning period and after,” the statement said.
