Edo Dynamos Women’s Handball Club of Benin on Wednesday in Abuja defeated Plateau Peacocks 28-21 in their third match at the ongoing 2022 Prudent Energy Handball Premier League.
The match played at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium saw Edo Dynamos girls leading Plateau Peacocks in the first half with 16-11.
On resumption of second half, Plateau Peacocks fought back but failed to convert most of their scoring chances into goals.
Speaking after the match, the head coach of Edo Dynamos, Aaron Okojie, said that he was happy they won the match.
“This is our third match, and my girls played to instructions. We lost our first game but won our second match on Tuesday.
“We will now work on our lapses ahead of our next game against Adorable Angels on Thursday,” he said.
Edo Dynamos lost to Rima Queens of Sokoto 20-31 in their first match, but returned the favours by defeating Seasider Babes of Lagos 22-19 in the second game.
Plateau Peacocks on their part beat Adorable Angels of Ilorin 20-34 in their first game, but lost their second game to Rima Queens 15-16.
In the other matches played in the league’s female category on Wednesday, Rima Queens drew their third match 37-37 against Imo Grasshoppers.
Safety Babes of Lagos had to dig deep to earn a 31-22 victory over De:Defenders Babes, while Seasider Babes walked over Kada Queens.
The competition started on Monday and is expected to end on June 2.
