Group Protests Baraje’s  Inclusion In APC Convention Committee

A group within the All progressives Congress (APC), Caucus for Progressive Change has rejected

the inclusion of Alhaji Kawu Baraje, as a member of the party’s

convention committee.

Chairman of the caucus, Alhaji Abdullahi Samari made this

known in a press statement in Ilorin, Kwara State on Monday,

“The leadership of APC is on the verge of getting it wrong

again. The inclusion of Alhaji Kawu Baraje serves no

progressive move, but that of those individuals bent on

destroying APC and already looking elsewhere for asylum.

“History is not a friend of anyone but the true reflection of our

antecedents.

“We must consistently remind ourselves that Kawu Baraje was

the willing horse that truncated PDP convention in 2014, before

emerging as a factional chairman, the feat he has been saddled

to orchestrate this time around.

“We can conveniently say that, a leopard will never change its

skin,” Samari said.

He described Baraje as a disloyal member of the party whose

allegiance is not to the party and its government but to a

personality.

The caucus therefore called on the National Chairman of APC,

Chief Odigie-Oyegun to remain neutral in the affairs of the

Kwara State chapter of the APC.

“We are aware that Chief Oyegun had always tilted to the side

of the senate president and Balogun-Fulani led executive.” He

said.

The caucus therefore appealed to the leadership of APC and

President Muhammadu Buhari to remove Kawu Baraje from the

list and replace him with a neutral and loyal member of the

party immediately
