Ekiti Retired Teachers Warn Workers Against Voting APC

The Positive Minds Club (PMC) for Ekiti Teachers, a gathering of

retired teachers in Ekiti State has described the scrapping of the Edo

State College of Agriculture and sacking of its over 400 workers by

the State Governor, Godwin Obaseki as another warning signal to

workers in Ekiti State.

 

The retired teachers, who spoke on Tuesday, through their President,

Mr. P. O. Ojo, said sacking of workers was fast becoming the national

policy of the All Progressives Congress (APC), warning that workers in

Ekiti State must save their jobs by voting against the party on July

14.

 

In August last year, Governor Godwin Obaseki announced closure of the

institution with a promise to revamping the institution.

 

Nine months after, over 400 staff of the College of Agriculture,

Iguoriakhi in Ovia South West Local Government Area of Edo State were

sacked by the governor.

 

The PMC said sacking over 400 workers by the APC government in Edo

State was a pointer to what to expect in Ekiti should the party be

allowed to regain power in the State.

 

The retired teachers said it was even more worrisome that the APC

candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi played prominent role in the competency

test done by teachers in Kaduna State, leading to the sack of over

22,000 teachers.

 

They said Fayemi’s insistence on teachers competency test when he was

governor and his demotion of hundreds of school principals and vice

principals was what no teacher will pray to experience in the
