Boko Haram Sub-Commander surrenders to Troops, recounts ordeal

A unit commander of Boko Haram, Bulama Gimba, has voluntarily surrendered to troops of Niger Republic in Bosso.

After spending 5 years in Sambisa, engaging in numerous battles, Gimba recounts relentless pressure and the clash between Boko Haram and ISWAP which led to his group’s displacement from Sabilil Huda in Sambisa forest.

They eventually settled near the Nigeria-Niger border along River

Kamoudougu Yobe.

More Commanders of Boko Haram are expected to surrender this week after being dislodged by ISWAP.

Most them fear that they may not survive it.

This particular Commander chose to Surrender through Niger due to the huge atrocities he committed and fear that he will never be accepted.
