INEC Shifts Deadline For Voter Registration To August 31

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has again extended the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration from August 17 to 31. Its Director on Voter Enlightenment, Oluwole Osaze-Uzzi said the commission has decided to extend the deadline beyond the initial date in order to give opportunity to eligible voters to be captured in readiness for the next election. The Commission also announced that it has registered 23 new political parties in readiness for the polls.

Kidnappers Kill Four Policemen, One Wounded In Ambush

Four policemen working with the Inspector-General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) have died in the service of their nation, killed on Saturday in Kaduna State by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers. Six of the kidnappers were also killed in the exchange of gunfire.
