After Offa Robbery Attack: New CP Resumes, Commences Officers Repositioning

The Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Aminu Saleh newly posted to Kwara State has vowed to remedy whatever lapses that might have made the Offa robbery and its attendant massacre possible.

Speaking in his maiden press briefing in Ilorin, the police chief said with the support and resolve of the police high command, strategic repositioning including personnel re-organization ad reach widening had commenced.

Also, he said the he had commenced movement officers from one point to other, make more police presence felt in nooks and corners of the state manned by reputable officers on 24 hours basis every day.

Saleh further disclosed that he had began consultations with relevant stakeholders in the state as well as the bankers, hoteliers, student bodies, selected youth organizations, traditional institutions and government at all levels in a bid to strengthen police capacity.

He called for support and good collaborations from  residents of the state to be able successfully police Kwara state.

Meanwhile, the police Commissioner said arrangements are underway to get additional Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) from Abuja to complement the one already sent to Offa after the bloody armed robbery attack in the town.
