Ferscoat International schools has concluded preliminary heats in preparation for the finals of the schools inter-house sports competition which holds on Friday.
The heats involved all the competing houses and the various athletes to determine those that will feature in the game’s final on February 25.
The heats which was keenly contested among the learners featured the four houses; The Blue known as Peace House, Green known as Joy, Purple known as Faith and the Yellow house known as Grace.
The heats featured the track and field events from where the finalists emerged for the grand finale on Friday.
Other activities that featured in the heats included the 100m,200m and the 400m for male and female from where the finalists also emerged.
Other events that featured in the heats are the Long Jump, Discuss and the Shot put.
The competition which was a healthy one among the learners indeed set the pace for the final outing on Friday.
The Principal, Mr. Fred Opata who expressed satisfaction with the outcome of the heats however tasks parents and guardians to turn out en masse to cheer their wards to victory in the final games.
According to him, the essence of the competition is to expose the talents in the learners and to keep them physically healthy same way the school has prepared them for mental excellence in their education.
The school known for excellence in external examinations recently set an impressive record at the last UTME where some of its learners not only made required points for admission into higher institutions but also set new records for the school in external examinations.
Dignitaries at the heats include the Director of Studies, Pastor Felix Opata, the Director of Finance, Deaconess Catherine Opata, head mistress, Mrs Rose Ashefor and the entire management of the school.
