Bagudu inaugurates 500 housing estate in Kebbi

Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has inaugurated 500 units of housing estate in Birnin Kebbi.

The estate, named “Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu Housing Estate”, was constructed by the State Government in collaboration with Family Homes Limited located on Sani Abacha bypass in Birnin Kebbi.

Inaugurating the houses, Bagudu said the estate was an opening for the incoming administration to build more that would lead to the airport, “as government is a continues process and work in progress”.

The governor noted that he had built on the foundation laid by his predecessor, Gov. Sa’idu Dakingari, adding that his government also complemented what the Federal Government was doing.

“We have a federal housing estate here built by the Federal Government,” he said.

Bagudu assured that more houses would be built under the incoming administration of Dr Nasiru Idris, insisting that the houses will be distributed to beneficiaries in the next 10 days.

He appealed to the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the houses to not only meet their family needs but also to enjoy good family life.

Earlier, the state Commissioner for Land and Housing, Alhaji Mahmud Warrah, said the houses were in two categories of two-bedrooms and three-bedrooms.

He said the estate would be allocated to state civil servants on owner occupier basis.

Warrah confirmed that a three-bedroom flat would cost N7 million, while a two-bedroom apartment would go for N6 million and to be paid in 15 years. (NAN)
