The Delta State Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (DARDA) in Collaboration with Emiliant Integrated Global Services on Thursday began capacity training exercise for no fewer than 100 farm extension workers.
Kick starting the training at Ibusa, headquarters of Agricultural Development Program (ADP), the board chairman, Dr Emmanuel Tibi said that the essence of the training was to build capacity of the 100-extension advisory recently recruited by the state government at different areas of in readiness for agric extension service delivery in rural communities in the state.
While expressing gratitude to the state Governor Ifeanyi Okowa for giving agriculture a priority place in his administration, Dr Tibi however reminded the participants of the need to Join the state government to give agriculture its rightful place in rural communities in the state.
He therefore appealed to the participants to translate whatever knowledge and information impacted in them from the training into meaningful agricultural ventures program, adding that the training satisfaction with the quality of resource persons and materials will enhance development of agricultural ventures in the state
Meanwhile, contractors and consultants engaged in Projects of the Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project (NEWMAP) in Delta state have been asked to align with the vision of the state government to deliver Jobs that will stand the test of time
The state Commissioner for Environment, Mr Chris Onogba in Asaba said; “we believe in quality timely completion and integrity in whatever we do in Delta state, the greatest disservice we can do to our people is when we allow material considerations to sway our decisions, help us to be the watch dog over the execution of the Job and ensure quality and integrity of the projects”
