The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Executive Jets Services Limited, Dr. Sam Iwuajoku, on whose chartered flight Naira Marley, Babatunde Fashola flew to Abuja for his concert on Sunday, has apologised to the Aviation Minister, Senator Hadi Sirika for the costly error of his organisation.
In a letter of apology to the Minister, the company said that the approval for the flight was secured for a Judge who was to go to Abuja but later discovered that the Judge had followed another flight to Abuja. When the request for another chartered got to him and he saw the name; Babatunde Fashola he thought it was for the Honourable Minister of Works and Housing not knowing it was for Naira Marley who incidentally bears the same name as that of the Minister.
According to him: “when I went through the manifest and I saw FASHOLA BABATUNDE I thought it was the Honorable Minister of Works going to Abuja with his men, so we decided to do the flight since he is a serving Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
Aviation Minister had suspended the certificate of operation of the company for flying the musician to Abuja to perform in a concert for which the organisers were penalised for contravening the rules of conduct during the pandemic in Abuja.
