Gov AbdulRahmam AbdulRazaq of Kwara State on Monday promised that his government would continue to support and assist the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in the state.
AbdulRazaq made the promised at the NYSC permanent orientation camp in Yikpata, Edu local government at the closing ceremony of the Batch ‘B’ , Stream II 2019 Orientation Course.
Represented by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Momoh Saba Jubril,, the governor assured the Corps members of further support and assistance in implementing all its statutory roles.
This support, according to him, include the welfare and security of all corps members deployed to the state
He congratulated the scheme, for running yet another hitch free orientation programme in the state.
The governor urged the Corps members to accept their posting to any part of the state and assured them of their security and welfare all through their service year.
In her welcome address, the State Coordinator of NYSC, Mrs Ikupolati, Esther Tosin described the orientation course as very successful and hitch free.
She thanked the kwara state government for all its assistance during the exercise.
Ikupolati acknowledge the support of the critical stakeholders of the scheme in the state.
She listed some of such stakeholders as the Nigeria army, the police, the Nigeria Security and civil defense Corps, the DSS, the State ministry of health, the University of Ilorin teaching Hospital and a host of others.
According to her, the success recorded was made possible by the unflinching support received from these collaborating agencies.
She said the Corps members have been posted across all the local government areas of the state in accordance to the NYSC posting policy.
The state Coordinator also used the occasion to felicitate with His Excellency, Gov AbdulRazaq on his first hundred days in office.
She was very happy that the NYSC state Secretariat is one the numerous agencies, who directly benefited from the Governor’s good governance within this short period.
